Let’s talk about 50:50
Pro Quote Film started in 2014 as Pro Quote Regie, at the time being a group of women directors who initiated a movement towards a 50/50 quota in public film funding as a reaction to the huge gender imbalance prevailing in the industry.
There's an imbalance in front of and behind the camera. The network Pro Quote Regie demands a diversity offensive in TV and cinema. Only in this way can the clear under-representation of women and stereotypes in TV and cinema be tackled.
Since then, a lot has happened. Pro Quote Regie has gone from a small group of directors to a massive organization funded by the state.
We have managed to implement several of our primary demands towards the industry and the cultural government. Now there are national studies on the work and employment situation of women in the film industry - and it has become officially impossible to deny the structural discrimination of women in this business.
As it became more and more apparent that the gender imbalance and discrimination is consistent throughout all film departments, Pro Quote Regie has evolved into Pro Quote Film. Now, we not only represent female directors but have become the voice of women from all departments behind and in front of the camera. Together, we work to achieve our principal goal: more women* on and off-screen.

Intimacy On Set with Ita O´Brien from London - Saturday 29 June 2019 from 13.30 to 15.30, admission from 13:00 in Gasteig Munich / Carl-Amery Saal.
Ita O´Brien changes the way the film industry deals with intimacy on set. Her groundbreaking work, with which she accompanied the shooting of the Netflix series "Sex Education" for example, attracts a lot of international attention. As an intimicy coach, she ensures that actors* and teams feel comfortable during the shooting of sex scenes. In a live workshop she presents her approach and works on a scene together with Stephanie Lexer and John Friedmann. She shows how the freedom of art can unfold through respect for the dignity and individual limits of the actresses and actors.
About the background of the event:
The #Metoo debate has not only caused a lot of fuss, but has also brought about some positive things. Pro Quote Film and BFFS and together with many industry associations, all major broadcasters and ver.di they founded the Themis Trust Center against Sexual Harassment and Violence. Since last October, it has been open to all those affected by sexual harassment in the film, television and stage industries and has been working very successfully. BFFS and Pro Quote Film are driven by the desire to improve the work situation and this includes above all prevention. Only concrete measures and new standards in handling will bring the often demanded cultural change to life. That is why we present Intimacy Coaching as an important building block on the path of change.
